For publishing houses
The editorial platform for publishing houses.
Every manuscript read in full at three disciplines — structure, line and copy — with the reports, the notes and the state of every title in one place your team works from. The platform does the reading; your editors keep the judgement.
Now taking on our first founding houses, who shape what we build next.
We do not typeset and we do not distribute. The finished manuscript and every production file pass to the house — the line ends where yours begins.
The platform does the reading. Your editors keep the judgement.
What you want to know
Nine pages rather than one long one. Each answers a single question and ends with a way to reach a person.
How it works
Five stations, between where a manuscript arrives and where it leaves.
The read
Three editorial readers, one per discipline. Each prepares; none decides.
What you get
The artefacts that reach your desk, and what each is for.
Series
Carrying book one into the read of book two.
The method
A model call treated the way a factory treats a machine on a line.
Your data
Where a manuscript rests, who can reach it, and what we never do with it.
Pricing
A platform fee and a per-title fee. We never count seats.
Getting started
The first title, and what the first month actually looks like.
Questions
The first four questions our first publishing house asked.
What is live, and what is in build
Where a feature is unfinished, we say so rather than imply that it is. This section is on the first page you land on, not filed behind a link, so you never have to guess which sentence is which.
Live today
- The full-manuscript editorial read: five analyses plus synthesis, with the report, chapter summaries and key points it produces
- Gated ingest that refuses a broken file with a stated reason
- The instrumentation on the method page — every editorial read recorded
In build now
- Self-service for the house workspace: creating imprints, inviting staff and ingesting your list without us. Until then we do it with you
- The editor’s workbench: reviewing the read in conversation, agreeing notes, and packaging them for the author as a document sent by a named person
- Series memory: each book’s summaries and key points carried into the next book’s read
When an item moves from the right column to the left, this page changes the same day — tense is a claim here, and we treat it like one.
Put a manuscript through it
The fastest way to judge us is the product’s own: send one manuscript through the read and compare the result with your editors’ view of the same book. Write to us — a person reads every enquiry — and we will also send the technical specification: what the system does, how it is built, and what it does not yet have. A specification that contains only good news is a brochure.
