How it works

Five stations, and two ends we do not cross.

A title arrives with its manuscript, moves through five stations, and leaves at handoff. Each editorial read runs five analyses in parallel against the complete manuscript — structural, character, plot, pacing, thematic — followed by a single synthesis pass.

The line

  1. ·

    Manuscript arrives

The title enters the line. Ingest is gated: a file that fails validation is refused with a stated reason, never loaded in a degraded state.

  2. 1

    Developmental

The full structural read — story, character, pacing — prepared by Alex and reviewed by an editor.

  3. 2

    Line

The line-level pass — prose, rhythm, clarity — prepared by Sam.

  4. 3

    Copy

The copy-edit pass — consistency, usage, mechanics — prepared by Jordan.

  5. 4

    Publishing

Cover and interior move through approval. The house holds the gate.

  6. 5

    Marketing

Launch materials are prepared for the house to approve.

  7. ·

    Handoff

Our five stations complete. The finished manuscript and every production file pass to the house.

Where the line ends

Handoff is a boundary we claim on purpose: composition and distribution are the house’s, and the files we hand off are built to enter your pipeline, not to replace it.

We are a supplier to your process, not a replacement for it. That is a limit, and stating it is more useful to you than implying we could take the book all the way out.

Put a manuscript through it

The fastest way to judge us is the product’s own: send one manuscript through the read and compare the result with your editors’ view of the same book. Write to us — a person reads every enquiry — and we will also send the technical specification: what the system does, how it is built, and what it does not yet have. A specification that contains only good news is a brochure.
